INJURIES. CAUSED BY
CURRENT PRACTICES.

The human body is a healing regenerating vehicle through which we are fortunate to experience life. Everything on the human body heals - muscles, bone, nerves, and even organs; but they need to be in the correct Neurological Environment™ to heal.

Injuries are a part of life that the amazing human body is designed to deal with. You can get injured tripping, falling down stairs, getting in a car accident or playing your favorite recreational sport. Not a problem the body heals. The problem is most injuries occur from chronic misuse of the body with normal daily activity which creates a negative neurological environment so the body can’t heal.

You can put your hand on a hot stove, and it will get damaged. If you take your hand off the stove, it will heal. If you keep your hand on the hot stove and take a bunch of pain meds, and shoot your hand up with novocaine, you won’t feel any pain, but your hand will eventually be destroyed.

This is exactly the problem with how chronic pain and injuries are treated. The symptoms (pain) are being treated instead of the cause (the hand on the stove) which is ignored.

Every year in the US, 600,000 people have back surgery, costing $600 billion and failing at a rate of 80%. According to the Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics, over a million worker's’ back injuries account for nearly 20% of all illnesses in the workplace.

If someone has back pain from a herniated disc it’s because they have a negative Neurological Environment™ that is working against the design of their body. It isn’t their spine’s fault; they’re just using their body wrong! Surgery is fixing the herniated disc but not fixing why the disc was herniated which is the actual cause of the problem. After the surgery the person goes right back to using their body wrong which leads to more negative compensation, leading to more injuries, damage and loss of function. This is exactly why back surgeries have such a ridiculously high failure rate.

Treating the symptoms instead of the cause has lead the U.S. into a vicious cycle of surgeries and opioid addiction. Prescription opioid drugs contribute to 40 percent of all U.S. opioid overdoses. If you have to take pain medications, even over the counter meds, daily or even weekly you are working against the design of your body causing damage and your body isn’t able to heal itself.

How does it make sense to take a pill to numb pain? If your check engine light came on in your car would you just cover it up and ignore it? Of course not. Your car is a very important part of your life and if you don’t take care of it well breakdown and no longer be functional. Same with your amazing human vehicle!

Pain is the body’s way of communicating that something is wrong, and means damage is occurring. Ideally, you will listen to your body and fix the problem so your body can heal. Pain is your friend, and is not to be ignored or masked with drugs. Blank Slate Fitness™ will show you how to open up lines of communication with your body, fix the problems, and work with your body’s design so it can heal itself. Being in chronic pain is not acceptable!
